Projectfive are organising the IoD Pimms on the Lawn event – a unique opportunity to enjoy a relaxed summer’s evening in the fabulous surroundings of the Watts Gallery in Compton. You’ll be welcomed with a cool glass of Pimms and the chance to socialise on the lawns outside the Gallery.
You’ll then be treated to a wonderful barbeque which includes such delights as Sweet Chilli Sirloin Steak; Halloumi and Pesto Mushrooms; Cumberland Sausage; Cajun Salmon with Lime and Coriander Aioli; Chicken Skewers with Fennel Seeds, Oregano, Lemon and Garlic; Lamb Burgers with Rosemary and Mint; and a wide selection of salads and accompaniments.
We’ll have exclusive use of the Gallery for the whole evening which will provide the perfect setting to mingle with fellow IoD members and their partners in this social event.
This will be the first event to be held in the Watts Gallery, following it’s full restoration. We are very lucky to be given this unique opportunity to view the Gallery less than a week after it re-opens.
G.F. Watts was one of the most eminent artists of the Victorian age and Watts Gallery is the permanent exhibition of his art for whoever wishes to see it, enshrining the vision of ‘art for all’. The collection consists of paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture by Watts, all works allocated by him for the nation.
Throughout the evening ‘Acoustic Jass’ will be playing some traditional jazz and blues tunes in the background to ensure the evening has the right buzz.
