It’s an exciting time in Camberley. Today sees the launch of Collectively Camberley ltd.
Collectively Camberley is a company setup to manage the town centre’s Business Improvement District (BID).
Camberley was the first town in Surrey to get the BID status thanks to all the pro-active businesses in the Town Centre that voted in favour. In fact, we had the 3rd highest acceptance vote of ANY town in the UK.
Collectively Camberley is run by a Board of Directors and the BID Manager (Shelly Ford). Glen Fulton, the Manager of the Mall, is the Chairman of the Board – and to provide balance to the board, and a voice to the non-retail businesses in Camberley, Steve Coburn (MD of projectfive) has been appointed as the Vice Chairman.
The aim of Collectively Camberley is to provide services that will help to improve the business conditions for all the businesses that operate in the Town Centre (and we’re not talking about just ‘retail’ businesses here – Camberley has a vibrant office-based business community too). More information can be found by visiting the Collectively Camberley website.
The funding for Collectively Camberley has been secured for the next 5 years (thanks to the levy paid by each Rate Payer in the BID Area) – so it promises to be an exciting 5 years to see what can be achieved.
