We love the opportunity to support our community. We also love to be part of an event that’s a little bit outside the box. So we were delighted to sponsor a duck as part of Surrey Care Trust’s Big Yellow Duck Race on 1st July this year!
The race takes place every year on the River Wey in Guildford. This year it was to raise funds for ‘Make the Difference’ – an appeal run by Surrey Care Trust to support people who are finding life tough, by helping them improve skills to cope better and look forward to more positive futures.
Not to be deterred by the rain (great weather for ducks, right?), we made sure that our duck – “Donald Van Sittert” – had a hat suitable for fighting friendly competition, whispered some gentle words of encouragement and watched as he started his epic race against the other great ducks of Surrey.
It turns out that Donald Van Sittert was too much of a gentleman to power through and win the race (that’s our story and we’re sticking to it), but Sarah and Mo had a great time networking with other local businesses who attended the event and judging from these pictures, a good time was had by all!
A big thank you to Surrey Care Trust for organising the event and if you’re interested in joining in the BIG Yellow Duck Race next year, you can find out all about it here.
