Changes to Outlook for Android | projectfive projectfive

Outlook have made changes to the way your emails appear on Android, particularly when it comes to replying. It looks pretty different from the version you may be used to, so here’s what you need to know:

Before the changes…

This is how Outlook used to look on your Android phone when you received an email.

When you click one of the three reply icons, you would type your reply above the original email, just as you would with the desktop version of Outlook.

After the changes…

With the new changes, you now use a drop-down arrow at the bottom of the screen to choose whether to ‘Reply’, ‘Forward’ or ‘Edit Recipients’.

And you now type your reply below the original message (but the recipient will see your reply in the normal place in the email chain i.e. at the top).

Use the drop-down arrow

Choose your reply option

Reply below original email

It looks quite different but we think it offers more functionality. But if you don’t like it, you can click the diagonal facing arrows next to the recipient’s name, to revert to the old layout.

Let us know what you think of the new updates to Outlook for Android!
