Microsoft has announced that soon, you’ll be able to add a personal calendar and connect a TeamSnap account to Outlook on the web.

How does this affect me?
Outlook on the web will give you the option to connect your personal calendar from either Outlook.com or Google calendar to your Office 365 accounts.

This will also mean that you will be able to connect a TeamSnap account too.

After, you will able to view and interact with your personal calendar whilst signed into your work account. The only thing to be aware of is that you will only be able to view the calendar details for TeamSnap events, you will not be able to change any details from your work account.

You will also be able to choose to have events from your personal calendar affect how your colleagues view your work calendar availability.

The default setting for your personal calendar events to affects your work availability is set to on. You will need to manually turn this feature off if you do not want your personal calendar to affect your work calendar availability.

Personal entries will show up as ‘tentative’, ‘busy’ or ‘away’ in your work calendar.

It’s also worth noting that you haven’t got to worry about personal data being visible to everybody in your organisation – no details will be shared from any personal event to the rest of your organisation. Even if your calendar is set to ‘share all details’ or has a personal event set to ‘public’.

Microsoft will begin rolling this out to all customers in April 2020 and it will be complete by July 2020.
