The highly anticipated Apple event took place on 15th September. There was no mention of a new handset, but it’s believed that this will be unveiled in the next few weeks.

Apple Watch Series 6
The undeniable star of the show was the new Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE, both with a huge emphasis on health and wellbeing.

- 30% larger face than previous models
- New S6 chip processor, which is 20% faster than the Series 5’s chip
- watchOS 7 includes Family Setup, sleep tracking, automatic handwashing detection, new workout types, and the ability to curate and share watch faces
- Sensor to track blood oxygen saturation (which helps track breathing and heart rate in more detail)
- Fall detection
- Accelerometer, gyroscope, and always-on altimeter
- An always-on display that’s 2.5 times brighter than the Series 5
- New wrist bands, including the ‘Solo Loop’ (expands to slip over your hand and onto your wrist without needing a clasp)
Apple Watch SE
- A more budget-friendly offering at $279 (sterling equivalent unknown at time of publishing)
- Features the same accelerometer, gyroscope, and always-on altimeter as Apple Watch Series 6
- Includes the new Solo Loop and Braided Solo Loop bands
